In 1892, a 24-year-old woman named Kate Morgan checked in alone under a false name, waiting for a lover who never arrived. Five days later, she was found dead on the hotel’s seaside steps, a tragedy that defined the hotel’s lore. Her spirit is now believed to be the resort’s “beautiful stranger.”
